Morning breakfast Mysore bonda recipe or home made Mysore bajji is a most popular recipe across India, is a deep fried oil food. this food recipe is prepared by Maida flour and curd.
we can use wheat flour instead of Maida flour. curd and Maida are primary ingredients in this recipe. and bonda served as breakfast and evening snacks.
And generally we see that Mysore bonda served in street food, at morning breakfast time or evening snacks time. is also one of the famous street food.
Coming to other ingredients in this recipe are onions, cumin seeds, green chilies, and coconut.
You can use finely chopped coconut instead of onions. well, I have not used coconut, I used onions instead of coconut. also rest batter at least 3-4 hours, so that you will get perfect texture of batter.
Morning breakfast Mysore bonda recipe can be serve with coconut chutney, or onion tomato chutney, or pea nut chutney.

How to make Mysore bonda (home made Mysore bajji ) :
- Initially, sieve Maida flour or wheat flour. I made with Maida flour, take one bowl of Maida flour.
- If you want to prepare with more quantity take more flour according to the recipe measurements.
home made Mysore bajji Batter preparation :
- In a mixing bowl, add one bowl of Maida flour, 1/4 bowl of rice flour, sieve rice flour before you add. rice flour helps to get crispy Mysore bonda. add according to the Maida flour quantity. as I take 1/4 bowl for 1 bowl of Maida.
- Next, add 4-5 finely chopped green chilies, and one finely chopped onions, and few curry leaves, salt to taste, one spoon of cumin seeds, 1/4 spoon of cooking soda / baking soda, finely chopped coconut, only few chopped coconut, and it is optional.
- If u would like to add coconut u can skip adding onions, and add one inch shredded ginger.
- Once all ingredients are added to the mixing bowl, just mix them all. combine to soft batter, add 2-3 spoons of water to the flour to get soft batter. batter consistency should be tight, not too thin.
- After preparation of batter, cover with lid and rest it for 3 hours.
Frying home made Mysore bajji :
- After 3 hours open lid and just combine batter one more time, and check the consistency becomes more fluffy than before and littlie sticky. then its a perfect consistency to make home made Mysore bajji
- Then, add required oil to the frying pan, put on the flame and let it heat till becomes hot enough.
- And check whether oil is ready to make deep fry by dropping small amount of batter to the hot oil, if its come up immediately, and floating on top layer of the oil then oil ready.
- Wet your hands, other wise batter will stick to your hand and unable to drop as round shape. then drop small ball size batter into hot oil, make all in same size and gently slid into hot oil.
- Keep the flame on low, fry evenly both sides. do not fry on high flame, if its fried on high flame it will not cook inside and absorb more oil. make sure the flame on low flame.
- Fry them till they Mysore bajji get golden brown color, once the bonda has become golden brown or change their color. transfer to the serving plate. then Morning breakfast Mysore bonda is ready to serve.
- Serve this home made Mysore bajji with your favorite chutney, such as pea nut chutney, or coconut chutney or onion tomato chutney.
Ingredients for Morning breakfast Mysore bonda recipe :
Maida - one bowl
Salt - As required
Rice flour - 1/4 bowl
Cumin seeds - 1 spoon
Cooking soda - 1/4 soda
Curd - 1/2 bowl
Onion - 1 finely chopped
Green chilies - 4-5
Curry leaves - Few
Oil - required for deep fry
Ginger - one inch

2 Add one bowl of Maida flour, sieve before adding to the bowl, and add 1/4 bowl of rice flour.
3 Then, add one finely chopped onions, and 3-4 finely chopped green chilies, one spoon of cumin seeds, few curry leaves, salt as required, 1/4 spoon cooking soda/ baking soda, one inch shredded ginger. then combine all.
4 Then, combine to soft batter, if needed add 2-3 spoons of water and mix soft batter, batter should have little thick consistency. after preparation of batter, cover with lid and rest this batter for 3-4 hours.
5 After 3 hours, open lid and check batter consistency, it became more fluffy.
6 Add required amount of oil to the frying pan, and let it heat till it becomes hot. once oil ready for deep fry, just wet your hand and take small ball size batter and gently drop in hot oil. then adjust the flame on low.
7 Fry evenly both sides till they get changed their color to golden brown color. (do not fry on high flame).
